quilt wadding

Hi has anyone thought of using IKEA's lightly padded mattress cover for quilting instead of the cheaper wadding on the market . it works fantastic and is so much cheaper

    I have been using it all week for christmas stockings and it has been fine so far and its washable , anything to save money so I can spend it on fabrics.
